obama (2K)Black Support for Obama - BPS Poll Final Results

The nation is searching frantically for numbers on Black America's support for Barack Obama who has entered the Democratic race for the office of the presidency. The first place they look is to Black leadership to see if any support falls from the camp. However, the nation (white media) neglected to look in the direction that will actually count, which is the people, Black people themselves. Well, Black People Speak have answers.

A poll is currently being conducted asking questions about Barack Obama and the people's support for him in addition to questions about the country's readiness for a Black president, a woman president, and who they will vote for in the coming elections. The results of the people tell the story thus Black leader opinion matters little.

The poll is on-going yet reported on regularly for the public to stay current on the results. Below are the results for the first reporting phase.

Of those polled, when asked the following questions:

Do you believe Barack Obama has a chance on becoming President?

  • Yes, of course - 40.86%
  • No, I doubt it - 26.88%
  • It's possible - 32.26%
More than 70% polled are either positive Obama has a chance at becoming president or believe it is possible Obama has a chance of becoming president. However, the remaining 26% do not believe he has a chance of becoming president.

Do you believe America is ready for a Black President?

  • No, they are not - 41.30%
  • Yes, they are ready - 47.83%
  • Never - 10.87%
Of those polled, a little more than 50% do not believe that America is ready for a Black president with 10% believing there will never be a Black president in America. However, at least 47% believe that America is ready for a Black president.

Do you believe Hillary Clinton has a chance on becoming President?

  • Yes, of course - 46.24%
  • No, I doubt it - 18.28%
  • It's possible - 35.48%
When asked about Hillary Clinton, a large majority of Black America believes that Clinton has a better chance of becoming president than Obama, while 18% have doubts.

Do you believe America is ready for a Woman President?

  • No, they are not - 37.63%
  • Yes, they are ready - 58.06%
  • Never - 4.30%
However, when the gender factor is taken into consideration, the polls are split with the larger portion believing that the country is ready for a woman president; as opposed to 41% either positive about a woman not being president or believing the country is not ready at all. There is a 11% difference between those believing that the country is ready for a Black president and those believing the country is ready for a woman president; the woman president being more possible.

Are you familiar with Obama's stance on the issues?

  • No, I am clueless - 31.52%
  • Yes, I know plenty - 58.70%
  • It does not matter; he is Black - 9.78%
Despite popular so-called Black leader opinion, the people have more knowledge about Obama's policies than the Black leaders who claim Obama has not taken a stance on the issues. An overwhelming 58% of the people know what Obama stance is while 31% have no clue. This fact makes null and void the media's and Black leaders attempt to steal knowledge from Black America and place it in their own hands.

Do you believe he will stand up for Blacks if he is elected?

  • Yes, of course - 63.33%
  • No, I doubt it - 27.78%
  • What difference does it make? He is Black - 8.89%
Of those polled, more believe that Obama will stand up for Black issues than those who believe he will not. That remains to be seen. However, 8% obviously do not care what he does as long as he is Black.

Who would you vote for between the two candidates?

  • Barack Obama - 70.65%
  • Hillary Clinton - 16.30%
  • Neither - 13.04%
Again, the results of this question has proved popular mainstream opinion and Black leader opinion worthless because 70% of Black people polled would vote for Obama in an election while only 13% would vote for Hillary Clinton.

To silence the mouths of so-called Black leaders, media pundits and politicians, the results of the Black People Speak poll reveals what the people, Black people, believe about the candidates. As stated earlier, the poll is not complete and is on-going thus the results could change, but as of now, the results speak for themselves and for the people, Black people.
